The Arkansas–Texas football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas Longhorns.

History

Texas and Arkansas first met in 1894 in a 54–0 victory by Texas.[1] The two programs have met 78 times and have played many historically notable games, including the 1969 Game of the Century, which eventually led to Texas' 1969 national title.[2] Although they have not regularly played each other since Arkansas' move to the Southeastern Conference in 1991, which consequently sent Texas to the Big XII Conference in 1996, many Longhorn and Razorback fans consider this an important rivalry. Texas and Arkansas's most recent meeting was in the 2014 Texas Bowl, which Arkansas won 31–7. Texas leads the series 56–22.[3][4]
