Kharmang District
The Kharmang Valley (Urdu: وادی کھرمنگ) is one of the five biggest valleys of Baltistan; recently it became a district, whose headquarters is Tolti .[1] The valley is located about 100 km from the capital city of Baltistan Skardu

Kharmang District is a political sub-division of Pakistan. It is part of Baltistan and currently constitutes one of the nine districts of the Gilgit–Baltistan territory of Pakistan. It is bounded on the southeast by Kargil district in the Indian-Administered Jammu and Kashmir, on the east by Ghanche District, on the northeast by Xinjiang (China), on the south by Baramulla and Kargil District, on the west by district Astore and on the north by Gilgit District.olding kharmang is a largest village of kharmang and it is located near kargil town india occupied Olding is most populated area of kharmang .its about 3000 house hold.it has many small village in olding such as mumosh,harghosil,mumush thang waddi, gangani,bila rgho,and other small area

Kharmang valley is a scattered populated area the approximate population of valley is about 20,000 households; most of the population are residing in scattered villages. The main source of income is subsistence livestock rearing for their livelohood and agriculture. Natives of Kharmang Valley speak Balti and mostly belong to Shia sect of Islam.
