Tougué is a town located in central Guinea. It is the capital of Tougué Prefecture. In 2008, its population was estimated at 3,745.[1]
Economy
There are deposits of bauxite near this town. Agriculture is also important, including onion farming.
Transport
The mine is connected by a 140 km 1435mm gauge railway to the junction at Dabola, where ore is transhipped to 1000mm gauge wagons for the rest of the journey to the port.[2] This branch line was completed in 1998.
