Talisay is a third class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 45,301 people.[3]

Talisay is located in the north-central area of Batangas, which is located south-west of the island of Luzon, approximately 84 kilometres (52 mi) south from Metro Manila. It is bordered by Tagaytay City in the north, the Laurel to the west, Tanauan City to the east, and a vast volcanic lake called Taal Lake to the south.

In 1953 the sitio of Buco in the barrio of Balas was converted into a barrio.[4]
