"Si tú te vas" (Eng.: If You Go) is the title of the first single released by Enrique Iglesias from his eponymous debut album.

Song information

The track was written by Enrique Iglesias and Roberto Morales, and a world-wide success. The video for the single was directed by Jon Small and won the Premio Eres for Best Video. The track also won the Best Song field at Premios Eres and Premios Lo Nuestro for "Pop Song of the Year".[1] An Italian version of the song is included on the international pressings of the album. Iglesias won an ASCAP award for "Si Tú Te Vas" in 1996.

Chart performance

The track debuted in the United States Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart at number 22 on 14 October 1995,[2] climbing to number 6 the following week. In the week of 2 December 1995 the track peaked at number 1[3] for five weeks, falling to number 2 the week for 6 January 1996 and returning to pole position the following week (13 January 1996) for another three weeks at the summit. The single spent nineteen weeks in the top ten and eight at number one.[4] The single also was a huge success in Mexico, peaking at number 1 for eight weeks.
