Miss Universe Iceland is a national Beauty pageant that selects Iceland's representative to the Miss Universe pageant. This pageant is unrelated to Miss Iceland contest.
History
Beginning in 2016, Manuela Osk Haroardottir (former Miss Iceland 2002) and pageant interview guru Jorge Esteban were awarded the franchise for Miss Universe Iceland. The national pageant will be held on September 12, 2016 at the Gamla Bio in Reykjavik, Iceland. The winner will represent Iceland at the 2016 Miss Universe pageant,[1][2] Previously the Miss Iceland (Ungfru Island) pageant would select the representative to Miss Universe.[3]

Between 1956 and 2009 the winners of Miss Iceland went to Miss Universe pageant. Began in 2016 the Miss Universe Iceland contest winner will compete at the Miss Universe pageant.
