Hernán Daniel Santana Trujillo (born 26 August 1990), simply known as Hernán, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for UD Las Palmas as a midfielder.
Football career
Born in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Hernán finished his formation with UD Las Palmas. He made his debuts as a senior with the reserves in 2010, in Tercera División.
Hernán made his debut as a professional on 12 February 2011, starting in a 0–5 away defeat against AD Alcorcón for the Segunda División championship.[1] His second appearance came only on 1 October, in a 1–1 home draw against Real Murcia.[2] In June 2012, he was definitely promoted to the main squad.[3]
Hernán netted his first goal in the "silver category" on 2 March 2013, in a 3–3 home draw against FC Barcelona B.[4] In August he suffered a knee injury,[5] being sparingly used during the 2013–14 campaign.
Hernán was an undisputed starter in 2014–15, appearing in 36 matches and scoring three goals as the Amarillos returned to La Liga after a 13-year absence. On 1 July 2015 he signed a new three-year contract, until 2018.[6]
Hernán made his debut in the main category of Spanish football on 22 August 2015, in a 0–1 defeat at Atlético Madrid.[7]
