Hany Said (Arabic: هاني سعيد) (born April 22, 1980) is an Egyptian football (soccer) player, who currently plays for Misr El Makasa.
He started his youth career at Al Ahly in 1997, but moved to the Italian club A.S. Bari the following year, where he played for 3 seasons in Serie A.
Hany moved after 5 years with Bari to Messina where they gained promotion to Serie A, after that he moved to Fiorentina where he could not find his place, he then joined the Belgian second division club Mons, but due to his injury troubles he returned to Egypt to Ismaily in July 2007.
On March 2002 Caf and Fifa banned Hany for 6 months after testing positive for drugs in 2002 African Nations Cup which was held in Mali, he returned to Egypt national football team in 2004 but he did not participate in the winning team of 2006, however Hassan Shehata the coach of Egypt has recalled him in the preliminary squad for ACN 2008 which won the cup too.
The Rise to Fame
Hany Said showed great performance during the African Cup of Nations 2008 in Ghana. Said was a target for Egypt's biggest clubs, Zamalek SC and Al-Ahly. The two clubs fought over Said but eventually, Said went to Zamalek SC. Said Joined Misr El Makasa in a Free Transfer after his contract with Zamalek ended.
