Gleneagle is a census-designated place (CDP) located within El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The population was 6,611 at the 2010 census.[2]
Geography
Gleneagle is located at 39°2′48″N 104°49′31″W / 39.04667°N 104.82528°W (39.046669, -104.825321).[3]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2), of which, 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of it is land and 0.40% is water.
Demographics
As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 4,246 people, 1,433 households, and 1,289 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,723.9 people per square mile (666.4/km²). There were 1,476 housing units at an average density of 599.3 per square mile (231.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.18% White, 1.25% African American, 0.14% Native American, 1.91% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.80% from other races, and 1.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.86% of the population.
There were 1,433 households out of which 44.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 84.4% were married couples living together, 4.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.0% were non-families. 8.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.96 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 29.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 102.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.4 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $84,491, and the median income for a family was $88,434. Males had a median income of $65,694 versus $31,719 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $31,099. None of the families and 0.2% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 1.9% of those over 64.
Politics
In the Colorado General Assembly Gleneagle is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Mark Scheffel, and in the 20th House District, represented by Republican Amy Stephens. Federally, Gleneagle is located in Colorado's 5th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +14 and is represented by Republican Doug Lamborn.
