'Cripps Red' is a cultivar of apples; the fruit are eaten fresh. The original tree was bred by John Cripps from 'Golden Delicious' × 'Lady Williams'.[1] The fruit mature very late in the season.[2] 'Cripps Red' fruit can be marketed as Sundowner™ apples, if they are sufficiently good quality[1] and are also sold as Joya™ in Europe.[3] 'Cripps Pink' (Pink Lady™) and 'Western Dawn' (Enchanted™) apples have the same parentage as 'Cripps Red'.[3]
