Barberenachampsa is a genus of proterosuchid archosauromorph from the Late Triassic of Brazil. It was originally named by Mário Costa Barberena (1982) as a new species of Proterosuchus, and subsequently raised to the a genus named in his honor by Kischlat (2000).
Species
- Barberenachampsa nodosa, Barberena 1982. This species was about 3 metres (9.8 ft) long and weighed 250 kilograms (550 lb). It was carnivorous and fed on fish. It lived during the Triassic, and was found in the Santa Maria Formation, geopark of Paleorrota, Brazil.
