Bachhwara (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (Hindi: बछवारा विधान सभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र) is an assembly constituency in Begusarai district in the Indian state of Bihar.
Overview
As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 142 Bachhwara (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Bachhwara, Mansoorchak and Bhagwanpur community development blocks. [1]
Bachhwara (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 24 Begusarai (Lok Sabha constituency).[1]
Election results
1977-2010
In the 2010 state assembly elections, Awadhesh Kumar Rai of CPI won the Bachhwara seat defeating his nearest rival Arvind Kumar Singh, Independent. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Ramdeo Rai of Congress defeated Awadhesh Kumar Rai of CPI in October 2005. Ramdeo Rai, Independent, defeated Awadhesh Kumar Rai of CPI in February 2005. Uttam Kumar Yadav of RJD defeated Awadhesh Kumar Rai of CPI in 2000. Awadhesh Kumar Rai of CPI defeated Ramdeo Rai of Congress in 1995 and 1990. Ayodhya Prasad Singh of CPI defeated Prem Lata Devi of Congress in 1985. Ramdeo Rai of Congress (I) defeated Ayodhya Prasad Singh of CPI in 1980. Ramdeo Rai of Congress Ayodhya Prasad Singh of CPI defeated Kishori Sharan Karamshil in 1977.[2][3]
