BJP Minority Morcha
BJP Minority Morcha is the minority wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, one of the major political parties in India.[1]
Organization
The Bharatiya Janata Party is one of the two leading political parties of India, the other being Indian National Congress. BJP Minority Morcha is the minority wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Prominent party leaders who are members of the minority Morcha include Sikander Bakht, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, M. J. Akbar, Arif Beg, Farooq Khan, Mohd Jozee, Dr.Aslam Gurukkal, Abdul Alim Khan, Shafaat Hussain, Shahnawaz Khan and Asifa Khan[2][3]
Ideology
The BJP Minority Morcha believes in the all core ideologies of the BJP. The concept of Integral Humanism has a special place in its ideology, with the party aiming to transform India into a modern, progressive and enlightened nation which draws inspiration from India's ancient Indian culture and values. Being the minority wing of the BJP, it mainly focuses on the issue related to Indian Minority. In November 2011, BJP Minority Morcha recommended to the party leadership to drop the demand for a Uniform Civil Code, but it stood by the party's stand of opposing any religion-based reservations.[4] However, in October 2015, BJP Minority Morcha endorsed the views of Union Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda that the Uniform Civil Code is the need of the hour.[5]
In July 2012, a one-day workshop on "Welfare of Minorities through Good Governance" was held in N. Delhi in which members and chaipersons of minority-related Government organisations of BJP ruled States participated.The workshop was inaugurated by the BJP president who asked the participants to deliver through good governance and win the hearts of the community.[6]
