Younger is an American single-camera comedy-drama television series based on the Pamela Redmond Satran novel of the same name, created and produced by Darren Star. The series stars Sutton Foster as the lead character, with Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Hilary Duff, Molly Bernard and Peter Hermann co-starring in other main roles.[1] The pilot was picked up for a series in April 2014, with a 12-episode order.[2] The first season consisted of 12 episodes, premiering on March 31, 2015 at 10 pm Eastern time.[3][4] The second season debuted on January 13, 2016.[5] The third season began airing on September 28, 2016 at 10 PM.[6]

Liza drops Caitlin off at college and meets Caitlin's roommate and her parents. Charles extends an open dinner invitation to Liza, essentially saying "show up if you really want to." Liza dresses up and makes it to the front door of the restaurant, but sees the parents of Caitlin's roommate talking to Charles, causing her to tell Charles via text that she can't make it. Liza then has to help Kelsey, who is dealing with a very drunk Diana. Liza later learns that Chad gave Thad's laptop to Kelsey so that she can try to crack Thad's password.

Liza's secret is almost exposed on two fronts. First, her therapist Dr. Wray (Camryn Manheim) has written a book that is selling poorly. In a teleconference with the Empirical staff, they reference an unnamed "40-year old posing as 26" from the book and mention Ellen would be willing to have the two of them on her show. Second, Liza and Kelsey meet with Bryce Reiger (Noah Robbins), a 20-something tech billionaire who is interested in investing in Empirical. Impressed with Liza and Kelsey, Bryce invites them to his loft party. Surrounded by tech geniuses, Kelsey gets one of them to figure out Thad's laptop password. With the home screen in view, however, Kelsey decides that Thad's password showed his true feelings for her and destroys the laptop. Meanwhile, Josh makes it clear that he is 100 percent back in the relationship with Liza, but Liza is hesitant.

Liza's worlds almost collide again when she convinces Bryce to make a significant contribution to keep her favorite bookstore in Paramus from closing and Charles insists that Liza come along to present the check. Elsewhere, Kelsey goes out with Lauren and learns that men turn away from her the moment she mentions her fiancé died. Lauren becomes attracted to a man at the bar and sleeps with him, then worries about breaking the news to Maggie. As the helicopter with Bryce, Liza, Charles, and Diana approaches the spot for the check-presenting ceremony, a worried Liza says the people there may reveal a secret about her. Bryce then learns that Mark Zuckerberg recently saved a bookstore in Detroit and decides he wants to back out for fear of looking like a copycat. As the helicopter retreats, Liza covers up by saying her secret is that she was a slut in high school.

During a quiet night in, Josh starts to get amorous with Liza, but she backs away, saying it's her "time of the month." Even though Josh is cool with sex anyway, Liza says she'd rather not. Later, Liza and Josh go to a charity event at the opera and see Charles there with Radha (India de Beaufort), a new woman he met. Diana argues vehemently with a construction crew that is making noise in her building at all hours. She confronts one of the pipefitters, who convinces her she needs to get laid. At the office, Bryce proposes a book deal with two YouTube sensations known as the "Stoopid Girls." Liza meets one of the girls and is surprised to find her very intelligent and well-read. She suggests to Bryce that the girl write a book as herself, not as a Stoopid Girl, but Bryce refuses. Bryce then mentions changes he wants to make at Empirical, namely firing the older employees.

Kelsey meets a great guy named Lucas, but Lauren warns her that the guy is too good to be Kelsey's first after Thad – suggesting that her friend find a "bad pancake" first. Maggie meets a woman named Malkie (Sally Pressman) at a community garden, and accepts an invite to a gathering at the woman's boutique. Upon arrival, Maggie realizes the boutique caters to Orthodox Jewish women, and wonders if she misread Malkie's signals. At an office meeting, Bryce suggests that Empirical look into digital rewrites of some classic novels, such as The Great Gatsby, with alternate endings. This angers Charles, Diana and Liza. Later, a more traditional book Diana has been pushing gets favorable reviews and starts selling well, and she wants to rub it into Bryce's face. Charles soon hints that Bryce is not right for Empirical and suggests he take his money elsewhere, even though it may mean financial disaster for Empirical. Liza and Josh attend a party being thrown for doctors, and Josh asks an OBGYN there about pregnancy over 35. He later asks Liza if she'd ever consider having another child.

In order to generate needed revenue, Charles tries to convince Edward L.L. Moore to write another novel in the popular Crown of Kings series, but Moore staunchly refuses. At the same time, Empirical chooses to pass on a novel called Me, Myself and O, submitted by unknown author Aubrey Alexis, until Liza realizes from the prose that the book was written by Moore under a pen name. Malkie invites Maggie to a nude bathing experience and Maggie convinces Liza to tag along, but when they arrive they find it is more of a religious ritual than they thought. Meanwhile, Josh's attempts to have sex with Liza in a public place keep getting shut down.

The mystery of "Who Is Aubrey Alexis?" boosts sales of Me, Myself and O. Gwyneth Paltrow has been contracted to read passages of the book at Ladies Who Lust gathering, but backs out, leaving Liza to do the honors. As Liza begins, Moore interrupts and tries to reveal that he is Aubrey Alexis, leaving Kelsey to have to save the day with an "I'm Spartacus" move. Kelsey meets Colin, a handsome writer from the New Yorker, at the event, and they seem to hit it off. Maggie's relationship with Malkie hits a road block when Maggie starts to realize that Malkie is part of a package deal that includes her omnipresent Jewish lesbian friends. Meanwhile, Josh is surprised to learn that Liza has only slept with three men in her life while he has been with many women, so he gives her a "free pass" card as a gift.

Liza finally gets David to sign divorce papers, but she later learns she accidentally put her 26-year old birthdate on the papers, and has to go back to fix it. Diana meets a man outside her office building who encourages her to ride rental bicycles with him. Thinking the guy is interested in her, Diana agrees, but later learns the man is gay and has a husband. She leaves the bike on the street and asks Liza to retrieve it. Liza does so, but is hit by a car while riding the bike and ends up in the hospital. Charles gets a call that Liza is in the hospital, and wants to ditch his date with Radha to see her. Radha tells him if he goes to see Liza, they are through. Charles goes anyway, but Liza is in a morphine-induced stupor by then. Charles and David pass in the hall, and Liza wakes up briefly when David is in the room and she says something meant for Charles. David thinks Liza still has feelings for him. He meets Josh for the first time, and insists that he and Liza are not yet divorced. Elsewhere, Kelsey is disappointed when she starts to get romantic with Colin, and he asks her to read a novel he wrote.

Kelsey gets feedback from Liza on Colin's novel. Liza thinks the writing is a bit disjointed, but says the story is very good and they should pursue it. The two meet with Redmond in hopes of getting him to represent Colin, and while there, Liza sees someone she knows from Entertainment Weekly. Liza and Kelsey get EW to do a story on Empirical's Millennial imprint, with Colin as a featured author. This backfires when EW includes an excerpt from Colin's book, causing Random House to make Colin a huge offer that Empirical cannot match. Elsewhere, Josh is disappointed that there is nothing he can do in the bedroom that Liza hasn't already done with her ex-husband, including anal sex. Liza finally lets him do something no one has ever done to her: give her a tattoo. On advice from her therapist, Diana chats up a man named Richard and the two hook up. This causes conflict when her therapist realizes Richard is the marriage and family counselor in the office next door.
