The single was first released in the US on 7 September 2010, and is set to be released in the UK and in international markets on 25 October 2010. Live performances
Belle & Sebastian performed "Write About Love" on their 29 September 2010 appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, along with the track "Piazza, New York Catcher" from their 2003 album Dear Catastrophe Waitress. Notably, drummer Richard Colburn did not appear on stage during this performance and his position was filled by Questlove, drummer for Jimmy Fallon's house band, The Roots. It was later stated that Colburn was still playing with the band, and was an audience member on the night of taping.[3]
