The Vitréais /ˈvitreɪɛ/ is a Breton cake. It is a specialty of Vitré, city in the East of Brittany. It is a cake with apples with salted butter caramel, eggs and almonds.[1]
Origin
The name derives from the Vitré's country "vitréais" and created by a pastry cook from inner city of Vitré, Mr Lhuissier.
Preservation
This cake keeps very well in the fridge and freezer.
