Verses of Comfort, Assurance & Salvation is the debut album of Brooklyn indie pop trio Au Revoir Simone. It was released on October 31, 2005 through the Moshi Moshi label. The band members put the album together in a basement shower stall that belonged to their manager, Rod Sherwood, who converted it into a vocal booth with the aid of a few handy quilts. "Through the Backyards" was the first track to be released as a single, which gained some momentum for the band via its inclusion on David Byrne's web-based radio station.
