Uruguayan Football Federation
The Uruguayan Football Federation (Spanish: Federación Uruguaya de Football or FUF) was a federation of football clubs in Uruguay of existence parallel to the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) during the amateur era of Uruguayan football. It was founded in 1923 under the Uruguayan football schism, which originates with the disaffiliation of AUF Peñarol and Central during the 1922 championship. Championships organized in parallel with this organization between 1923 and 1925. In 1925 the Uruguayan government intervention to impose the merger achievement of old AUF and FUF, in a single federation.
Tournaments organized by the Uruguayan Football Federation
The FUF organized tournaments parallel to the AUF in all categories:
- Uruguayan Championship of the Uruguayan Football Federation
- Middle Divisional of the Uruguayan Football Federation
- Extra Divisional of the Uruguayan Football Federation
These tournaments are not considered official by the current Uruguayan football's governing body, the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).[1][2]
