Thiyagu (born 16 March 1977 in Yercaud, Salem district, Tamil Nadu) is an Indian Director of Photography, known for his work Hrudayadhalli Idhenidhu(2010), Pancharangi(2010), as Operative Cameraman for Endhiran (English: Robot) and Varanam ayiram (2008) and as Secondary Unit Cameraman for Telugu movie "Brahmotsavam".
Life and career
Thiyagu was born in Yercaud, son of Venkatachalam and Saroja, he raised in Yercaud. After he received his bachelor's degree ‘film graduate’ with distinction "Gold Medal" from Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu (FTIT) in 1998. He worked with an ace DOP Randy[1] for more than five years, did 12 feature films with him and 200 commercials and worked as an operative cameraman for the India's recent high budget movie's Endhiran (ROBOT) and Vaaranam Aayiram. Thiyagu gained his first independent career journey started as a debut DOP with a Kannada movie called Hrudayadali Idenidu directed by S Shivan, and next in movie Pancharangi, a box-office success released in Nov 2010. Pancharangi was directed by ace director Yogaraj Bhat and the film was originally from Bhat’s maiden home production. The film was starring by Diganth & Nidhi Subbaiah. The film was released on 3 September 2010. This was his independent work which enhanced excellent location and shots. Then the third movie was a Bangladesh movie "MOST WELCOME" directed by Mamoon and also doing commercials and documentaries. He worked for a Lyricist Vairamuthu's ‘THANNEER DHESAM’ movie.
