Taylor Hayes (born Tara Ellyn Smith on January 14, 1975)[1] is the stage name of an American retired pornographic actress. She took her pseudonym from Taylor Hayes, the fictional character played by Hunter Tylo on the The Bold and the Beautiful, an American soap opera of which she was a fan as a teenager.

Early Life

Hayes was raised in a broken, alcoholic family in suburban Ohio. During her formative years and high school years in suburban Dallas, she attended Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Texas.

Career

After graduation and while working at the Caberet Royal Strip Club, Hayes was featured in Penthouse in 1994 as the result of winning a local talent search. The event caused Hayes to be evicted from the home of her then-boyfriend (reputed to be a Dallas Millionaire). She then subsequently moved to Las Vegas, where she lived with a local pornographer/swinger couple, had a brief fling with John Wayne Bobbit, and was also featured in a Hustler centerfold in 1995. Later that same, year Taylor moved to Los Angeles and began working for adult studio VCA Pictures.[1] After a couple of adult film productions with VCA, she left to become one of the feature girls of gonzo pornographer Adam Glasser (also known as Seymore Butts). She took a brief hiatus to have her first child, but then returned to the industry, signing an exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment in 1997[2] during which time she made more than a dozen feature films. In the late nineties she also made several appearances on the Howard Stern show, the last of which ended with her leaving the studio in tears, after Stern repeatedly called her an "anal queen". After several years in the adult film industry, Hayes retired in 2002. Hayes went on to make an appearance in 2003 B film Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain. In december 2005 she launched a comeback but quickly re retired from porn In 2006 after she had a second child out of wedlock. That same year she got married to Dr. Robert Braun, and re retired from porn. In 2007, she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.[3] Rumors of a comeback as a camgirl have surfaced, but this never came to fruition.

Personal Life

In 1995 Taylor started dating famous gonzo pornography Adam Glasser (also known as Seymour Butts). The couple had one child together in 1996, Brady Glasser, before splitting the following year. After a long, hard fought custody suit, Adam got possession of the child. In 2006 she got married to Dr. Robert Braun, and subsequently re retired from the porn industry. She has been out of the limelight since then.
