Tara Newz (Bengali: তারা নিউজ) (also known as Tara News), was a 24-hour Bengali language news channel, covering local news of West Bengal and Bangladesh as well as national and international news, was operated by Broadcast Worldwide Limited, a Public Limited Company, with other channels under its umbrella, viz. TARA Muzik, and TV Southasia. Tara Newz was formally launched on 21 February 2005, the International Mother Language Day.[2]
It was nationalized on 23 May 2013.[1] The channel was shutdown on 15 April 2013.[3]
