Talent Zoo is primarily used to match company job openings to qualified professionals via a niche job board for the following industry categories: marketing, advertising, public relations, digital media, social media, and cross-sector categories such as freelance or creative jobs. Professionals can upload their résumés and submit them to potential employers, while employers can post job ads and search for potential employees via a résumé database. Currently, Talent Zoo publishes several popular blogs for communications professionals in specific industries, such as: Digital Pivot (Digital & New Media), Flack Me (Public Relations), Beneath the Brand (Marketing & Branding), and Beyond Madison Avenue (Advertising).

History

Talent Zoo was founded in 1996 by Rick Myers in Atlanta, Georgia, and originally began as a traditional off-line recruiting company for advertising agencies. Myers launched the company from a spare bedroom in his condo, and then quickly moved it to Atlanta's Bohemian Inman Park neighborhood. The company grew and began developing a web presence in 2001 as sites like Monster.com, Headhunter.net, and HotJobs.com were achieving success selling job postings. TalentZoo.com soon emerged as a leading niche job board, and was named by Forbes as "Best of the Web for niche job boards in 2002."

Talent Zoo has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, as well as various trade publications such as Advertising Age and Fast Company. Rick Myers was voted one of Atlanta's "40 Under 40 Most Promising Young Stars" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2006.
