Takbaş is a village in Tarsus district of Mersin Province, Turkey. At 37°57′N 34°50′E / 37.950°N 34.833°E it is situated in Çukurova (Cilicia of the antiquity). Çukurova Motorway ( ) is to the north and Turkish state highway is to the south of the village. The distance to Tarsus is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) and to Mersin is 35 kilometres (22 mi).[1] The population of the village is 1003 [2] as of 2011. It is a typical Çukurova village cotton and fresh vegetables being the main crops.
