Sunil Agrawal is a manufacturing and electronic retail entrepreneur. He is known for his home shopping channels and online retail websites of fashion jewellery and lifestyle products operating in the UK and USA. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Vaibhav Global Limited[1][2][3] (VGL), the holding company of Liquidation Channel (LC) in the US & Canada and The Jewellery Channel (TJC) in the UK.

Early life and education

Sunil grew up in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan state of India, also known as the tourist and jewellery hub of India. He is a commerce graduate with an MBA degree in Organisational Leadership from the Columbia University, New York (USA). Sunil was a restless teenager. It’s probably, for this reason, he showed no interest in his father’s photo studio in Jaipur and after completing his graduation Sunil perceived his interest in Gems.

Career

Sunil[4] is a first generation entrepreneur, he established Vaibhav Enterprises in 1980 with an objective to professionalize the Gems and Jewellery Trade. He started Vaibhav to be a gemstone manufacturer and later moved to jewellery manufacturing and then an electronic retailer of jewellery through LC and TJC under the publicly listed company Vaibhav Global Limited (VGL).[5]

Under Sunil’s leadership VGL developed and popularised many jewellery and lifestyle product brands like – ILIANA, Rhapsody, J Francis, Karis, Elanza, Strada, Genoa etc., which are retailed through own retail networks- LC and TJC. In 2014 VGL sold over ten million pieces[6] of jewellery and lifestyle product through its retail channels consisting of branded as well as non-branded products.

Sunil has travelled widely and has garnered immense knowledge of gemstones, jewellery and lifestyle products. He has brought this expertise to bear on the success of the company. He has represented the company at all major international trade shows and is also credited with the pioneering commercialisation of popular gemstones like Tanzanite.

Sunil is passionate for social causes. VGL group’s One for One program has distributed over five million mid-day meals in India till Sept 2016. Sunil supports schools for economically weaker sections as well as an old age home.
