Sunder Ramaswamy

Sunder Ramaswamy is an international educator specialising in international economic development. He is Director of Madras School of Economics. He was president of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, a graduate school of Middlebury College.[1] He is also an active leader in the impact investing community, serving on the board of advisors for Sanghata Global, an international development organization dedicated to poverty alleviation through market-based wealth creation.[2] Further, he serves as vice chair on the board of The Asia Foundation and as the vice chair on the board of the American International School Chennai.

Dr. Ramaswamy received his Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University in 1991, an M.A. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and B.A. (Honors) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, India. His principal fields of specialization are Development Economics, International Economics, Issues in Applied Microeconomics and Quantitative Methods.
