Sultan Mohammad Khan

Sultan Mohammad Khan (1795–1861), also known as "Telai" was a governor of Peshawar from 1828 to 1834. He was the older brother of Dost Mohammad Khan (Emir of Afghanistan) (1793–1863). His love of clothes led to his family giving him his nickname "Talai", meaning golden.[1]

The First Musahiban


He is the fifteenth son of Sardar Payinda Khan Muhammadzai. He is the great grandfather of King Mohammed Nadir Shah.

Khan had as many as 70 children, including Yahya Khan, Sufi Din Muhammed, Zikria, and Abdul Qudus.

His tombstone coordinates are 34°30'46"N 69°12'21"E.

He is Musahiban (mú-cy-bon) derived from Farsi (مصاحب) Musahib, meaning "companion" and is part of the Mohammadzai family.
