"Start a Fire" is a single by Polish singer Margaret. The song was released as the second single from the album Add the Blonde on 21 August 2014, only in Poland.[1] It is also the official song of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship.[2] The song was written by Thomas Karlsson and Mats Tärnfors.[3] The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship version of the song contains some changes in the text in Polish and English written by Małgorzata Jamroży.[4]
The single peaked at number 10 on the Polish Airplay Chart.[5]
Music video
A music video to accompany the release of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship version of "Start a Fire" was released onto YouTube on 27 August 2014.[6] It was directed by Agata Tadra, and most of the scenes were filmed in Kraków in Kraków Arena during the 2014 Memorial of Hubert Jerzy Wagner.[7]
A music video to accompany the release of the single version of "Start a Fire" was released onto YouTube on 19 September 2014. It was directed by Olga Czyżykiewicz.[8]
Live performances
Margaret performed "Start a Fire" at the 2014 Memorial of Hubert Jerzy Wagner on 18 August 2014.[9] She also performed the song at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship opening ceremony on 30 August in National Stadium, Warsaw, prior to the Poland v. Serbia match. This event was broadcast in over 168 countries.[10][11]
