South Bend Civic Theatre
Coordinates: 41°40′51″N 86°15′09″W / 41.680856°N 86.252369°W South Bend Civic Theatre is the oldest community theatre company in the South Bend-Mishawaka area of Northern Indiana.
History
The theatre group was founded in 1957 and has staged productions at several venues including Century Center's Bendix Theatre, DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts at Notre Dame, Morris Performing Arts Center and The Firehouse in the historic Park Avenue neighborhood. In January 2007, they moved into their own facility in the old Scottish Rights Building in downtown South Bend.[1]
In August 2012, the theatre board announced that Mark Abram-Copenhaver will be the new interim Executive Director.[2] Besides staging plays, the South Bend Civic Theatre also offers summer camps to instruct school age children in theatre arts.[3]
