Sony Earth is a new Hindi Search that launched on 11 Nov 2015. It is aimed at geography with stories about Earth and at family. It will compliment its sister channels Sony Entertainment Television (India) and comedy GEC SAB TV, launching with 9 new shows, having Juhi Chawla as its face.[1][2] Its new shows will have fresh concepts bringing alive its slogan - This my Earth. The channel will be a competitor to and even its own sister channel Sony Entertainment Television(India) and SAB TV.

For Indian women,[3] the channel will showcase stories and characters which will form an instant bond with you. The channel stands for positivity, inspiring the audiences which will make them say - "Yeh Pal Hamara Hai". With 7 new serials ranging from different cultural backgrounds like Hindu, Sikh and Muslim origin, 1 chat show and 1 game show, Sony Pal will be available on TV, through all major cable and DTH platforms such as: DD Free Dish, Dish TV, Airtel Digital TV, Videcon D2H, Reliance Big TV and Tata Sky.

The show aired a 3-hour launch event on 7 September @8PM on Sony Pal, introducing its cast, shows, production houses and teams. Many famous celebrities of the Indian TV drama industry and Bollywood industry attended the event. The channel is doing exceptionally well, with shows reaching 0.5 TRPs in its 2nd week and is doing better than many channels including the leading channel Rishtey TV. The unfortunate news came in the end of January that the channel was shutting shop in February due to low TRPs on the show and that there were less viewers on the channel because the shows were not relatable. However, later it was announced it will stay on air but will air reruns of old Sony and Sab shows. It is now a rerun channel.[4] The channel failed to live up to the expectations and officially ended all shows on 13 February 2015, just 5 months after its launch, having a promising concept and high expectations. One of the shows 'Singhasan Battisi', was brought back due to public demand after the channel closed and was shifted to a new channel and is aired on Sab.
