Soch Kral (Urdu: سو چھ کرال), was a Kashmiri sufi poet and a potter by profession . He was disciple of famous Kashmiri poet Momin.
Biography
Soch Kral was born in 1782 in Inder village of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.He was a potter by profession.He lived a very simple life and talked about spirituality, monotheism and mysticism.Arif Kral, who was also a sufi poet, was his father.Some people believe that he migrated to Devsar village of Anantnag where his relatives are still living.Some say that he was married but divorced his wife because of personal reasons.[1]
Work
He used his poetry as a tool to enlighten the minds of people[2] As honour a college namely Soch Kral Memorial college of Education located in Pulwama Kashmir was named after him.
Death
He died on 29 November 1854 in Inder village of Pulwama Kashmir.
