Sober Grid is a geo-social mobile networking application which connects sober people.[1] Users can find one another based on their relative distance.[2] Sober Grid creator Beau Mann had the idea to create Sober Grid while attending the Sundance Film Festival.[3]

Features

The design of Sober Grid has two main features: the newsfeed and the grid. The newsfeed contains a time oriented list of posts from Sober Grid users. The grid displays users based on their proximity. On the Grid, users have the option to turn on the “burning desire” or “need a ride” features. Selecting these features highlights the user's profile on the Grid.[4]
