Simón González de Acosta (1624 – 1653) was a Spanish captain and alcalde of Buenos Aires during the viceroyalty of Peru.[1]

Biography

Born in Buenos Aires, Simón was the son of Antonio González de Acosta (Portuguese merchant), and María Sanabria daughter of Antón García Caro and María Gómez Méndez de Sotomayor.[2] His wife was Catalina daughter of Pedro Cabezas and Ana del Corro (Indian), granddaughter of Simón Cabezas (conquistador born Andalucia).[3]

Simón González de Acosta was elected alcalde ordinario of Buenos Aires in 1649.[4]
