Seymour Ehrenpreis

Seymour Ehrenpreis has a PhD in biochemistry and was the chairman of the pharmacology department of Chicago Medical School for a couple of years. He has patents on a number of medications including D-phenylalanine (DPA), a treatment for various kinds of chronic pain. He was previously on the faculty of the University of Chicago Medical School. In the 1960s Ehrenpreis was on the faculty of the Georgetown University Medical Center. Ehrenpreis was the Burger Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia from 1965-1966.[1]

Ehrenpreis is married to the former Bella Goodman. Their son Eli Ehrenpreis has co-authored two books with his father.
