Santa Maria College is a Roman Catholic all-girls school. It is situated in the inner-northern Melbourne suburb of Northcote, Victoria. Established in 1904 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of St Benedict, it now caters for over 950 students.
In 2011 Santa Maria College announced the appointment of new Principal Deborah Barker.
More than 15 different sports are offered, throughout the year, some of which include; basketball, cross country, soccer, football, hockey, volleyball, indoor soccer, netball, softball, athletics, swimming, diving, indoor cricket and super 8's.
The various debating teams, compete in both in school (inter-house) debates and out of school debates representing Santa Maria in various divisions.
the School offers both Italian and Japanese.
At Santa Maria College, they have many school productions with phenomenal outcomes such as Fame,A Midsummer Night Dream,The Wiz, Aladdin Jr,The Pajama Game, Little Women, Mulan Jr, Peter Pan, Annie and as of May 2015, Alice in Wonderland .
The students also have the option of joining the music program, with many different instruments available, including voice.
