San Francisco Cinematheque

San Francisco Cinematheque is a film society founded in 1961 by a group of filmmakers, including Bruce Baillie and Chick Strand. Working with other groups like Canyon Cinema, the San Francisco Cinematheque has shown experimental film and video in cooperation with venues such as San Francisco Art Institute, New College of California, Frameline, The Roxie, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

San Francisco Cinematheque also produces CROSSROADS, its festival of recent and rediscovered artist-made film, video, and performance works. The festival is held annually in April in San Francisco.
