St. Peters' Catholic Cemetery is located just south of Tonnelle Circle near Croxton Yard in Jersey City, New Jersey and is administered by Holy Name Cemetery.[1]

The first burial at this cemetery is said to have been on June 9, 1849 prior to the land being deeded to the cemetery association. This cemetery is the oldest in the Archdiocese of Newark. The cemetery is associated with St. Peter's Church which was founded in 1829 in Jersey City. The 4.92-acre (19,900 m2) plot of land is said to have been purchased from Walter Van Winkle in September 1849 by twelve men who formed an association. In early November of that year promotional lots were for sale. A 9-foot (2.7 m) by 10-foot (3.0 m) section cost $15.00. In 1875 several graves were relocated thanks to the Legislature for a railroad right of way. The last burial at this cemetery is said to have been circa 2003. The cemetery does not have any plots for sale.[2]
