The Sacred Heart School of Halifax is a coeducational independent Catholic day school in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is one of a number of international schools of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart has a combined campus in central Halifax, with a co-ed elementary school and separate single-sex boys' and girls' high schools.
Founded in 1849, Sacred Heart is the oldest continuously operating school in Halifax and is the only Catholic school in Nova Scotia.[1]
History
Sacred Heart Convent was founded in 1849 by the Society of the Sacred Heart. It was originally one of two convent schools in the city and educated the daughters of the elite for many years.[2]
