Rupesh D. Gohil[1][2] (born 22 May 1978) also known as RDG, is an Indian TV & Film producer& Director, Founder and Director of RDG Productions Private Limited.[3] He is known for producing serials on Doordarshan National channel & and Telugu films in south industry.
Personal life & Family background
Rupesh D. Gohil was born and brought up in Surat city of Gujarat. After his schooling in Surat, he shifted to Mumbai with his family and he did his graduation from Mumbai. His father Late Dhirajbhai Gohil was a renowned businessman in Surat. Rupesh D. Gohil has a younger sister Sounia Gohil[4][5] who is a famous fashion designer in Mumbai associated with brands like Lakme
Career
Serials
Rupesh D. Gohil has started his career as a television producer in 1999 with GUL SANOBAR[6]” a mega fantasy serial which got telecasted on DD national, UTN, Zee TV and on many international channels in various countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia, Bahrain, Brunei, U.K., and U.S. and later on experienced breakthrough success with the serial like “MISS INDIA”, which ran successfully on the top spot on DD national. Miss India was a multi starrer serial starring celebrities like cricketer Vinod Kambli,[7] Dalip Tahil,[8] Ronit Roy, and many more. After Miss India Rupesh D Gohil gave another hit serial “AIR-HOSTESS” again on DD National and making a benchmark for popular television programming in India and abroad. Later he made his debut as director in his own serial “Detective Wagle” a detective drama series on Doordarshan National starring celebrity Actor Anjan Srivastav in the title role. In 2014 Rupesh D Gohil gave one more hit serial on Doordarshan “Chhupaun kaise Laaga Chunari mein Daag” a love story with a Bollywood background which was ran successfully on the top spot for a year
Rupesh D. Gohil has produced over 25 serials in various languages for various channels and possesses a very impressive list of serial catalogue consisting of more than 1000 hours of memorable software.
Currently Rupesh D. Gohil is working on a subject a historical social drama series “Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule” which has been approved by Doordarshan National.
Films
After making a mark in the television industry, Rupesh D. Gohil have taken the next step forward by embarking upon the production of Feature Films in South Film industry in 2010. In this direction, Rupesh D. Gohil produced & released socio fantasy Telugu movie titled “Brahma Lokam to Yama Lokam via BhooLokam” which comprises many Telugu superstars playing the lead characters Like Rajendra Prasad, Shivaji, etc., the movie was acclaimed by critics and received a fair response at box office in 2010. The next Telugu venture was blockbuster hit film “Cinema Choopistha Mava” starring Avika Gor (of Balika Vadhu fame) as lead heroine in 2015 which ran successfully for 6 weeks in theatres around Andhra Pradesh and was listed as the most successful movie after Bahubali in trade guide.
Rupesh D. Gohil aims to produce three films in a year in different languages in South Film Industry.
