Rockwall High School is a high school that is part of the Rockwall Independent School District located in Rockwall, Texas which rivals Rockwall-Heath High School, the other high school in the district. The mission statement reads "Rockwall High School values quality education and strives to be an exemplary school by providing students with the tools needed to allow them to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners." The Academic Decathlon team won first place in the state of Texas (2014) and was 3rd in the nation. Over the last two years, the football program has seen increased success under coach Rodney Webb.

The current principal of the school is Dr. Courtney Gober. The school mascot is the yellowjacket and the school colors are orange and white. The school currently shares the Wilkerson Sanders Memorial Stadium with Rockwall-Heath High School. The majority of the students at Rockwall High School come from J.W. Williams Middle School and Herman Utley Middle School.

The school also boasts excellent Academic Decathlon, language, and culinary arts programs. Average class size is around 500 and the school achieves an average graduation rate of 98%, well over the Texas rate of 89.3% and the U.S. rate of 82.2%.[2]

Athletics

The high school offers baseball, basketball, golf, cross country, gymnastics, soccer, track and field, football, powerlifting, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and wrestling. In recent years the athletic programs have yielded exceptional athletes such as Chris Warren III (currently playing football at University of Texas at Austin) and Raena Eldridge (swimming at Texas A&M University). In the 2015 season, the Yellowjacket football team went undefeated in district play and ended up 10-4 in the overall season.[3] The wrestling team won state championships in 2001 and 2002. The girls varsity basketball team is something to be proud of, having won the state championship in 2007 after a perfect 40-0 season. In 2011, they achieved second place in the state.
