Rafael Antonio Gutiérrez
General Rafael Antonio Gutiérrez (24 October 1845 – 9 January 1921) served as President of El Salvador from 10 June 1894 to 13 November 1898. He was overthrown in a coup led by Tomás Regalado.
He was born in Ilobasco, Cabañas Department, El Salvador. His father was a Spaniard and his mother was named Marcela Gutierrez. His wife was Carlota Mejía and their children were Rafael Antonio, Carlos, Carlota, Tulio, Marcela, Rosa, Bernardo and María. He died on January 9, 1921, aged 75.
