Radegund is an upcoming drama film written and directed by Terrence Malick, starring August Diehl and Valerie Pachner.
Plot
The Austrian Franz Jägerstätter, a conscientious objector, refuses to fight for the Nazis in World War II and is executed by them in 1943.

Production
Development
On June 23, 2016, reports emerged about Radegund, which would depict the life of Austria’s Franz Jägerstätter, a conscientious objector during World War II who was put to death at the age of 36 for undermining military actions, and was later declared a martyr and beatified by the Catholic Church. It was announced that set to play Jägerstätter is August Diehl and Valerie Pachner is to play his wife Franziska Jägerstätter.[1]
Filming
The film was announced to set to begin production in Studio Babelsberg in Potsdam, Germany in the summer of 2016, and will also be shot in other parts of Europe. The casting agency Han & Oldenburg also reported a shoot in Brixen and South Tyrol, located in northern Italy, which was to occur from July 11, 2016 through August 19, 2016.[1]
During the month of August 2016, reports emerged that some scenes of the film were shot in the small Italian mountain village of Sappada.[2]
