Qamrul Islam is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the present Minister of Food.[1]
Controversies
Allegations of aiding Pakistani military
Opposition activists accuse Qamrul Islam and his brother Azizul Islam, of being aiding the Pakistani military establishment during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.[2] Islam and his family deny the charges.[3]
Contempt lawsuit
Qamrul Islam was convicted on contempt of court charges in 2016.[4][5]
