Prime HD was an Australian television channel, owned by Prime Media Group, that originally launched on 15 October 2007. This 7HD affiliate operated in Victoria, New South Wales, and in the Australian Capital Territory. Prime HD broadcast breakaway programming from 10 December 2007 until 4 October 2009. Prime HD fully ceased broadcasting on 25 September 2010.
Programming
During its time of breakaway broadcasting, Prime HD broadcast a range of programming, with exclusive transmissions on weekday and weekend afternoons, late on Sundays and weeknights, and Saturday nights. Approximately seven hours of exclusive programming was broadcast daily.
Weekday afternoon programming included repeats of locally produced lifestyle programming, such as Harry's Practice and The Great Outdoors, as well as movies and Disney cartoons. In the evenings a mixture of exclusive series, movies and encore screenings of series, such as Brainiac: Science Abuse, Day Break, and Scrubs were broadcast. The NightCap was broadcast exclusively on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10.30pm until its axing during the Easter non-ratings break.
Exclusive weekend programming included extra Disney children's programs, a Saturday Afternoon Movie and an encore of Better Homes and Gardens which screens on Prime on Friday nights.
