Peroxyureidoacrylate/ureidoacrylate amidohydrolase (EC 3.5.1.110, RutB) is an enzyme with systematic name (Z)-3-ureidoacrylate peracid amidohydrolase.[1] This enzyme catalyses the following chemical reaction
- (1) (Z)-3-ureidoacrylate peracid + H2O (Z)-3-peroxyaminoacrylate + CO2 + NH3 (overall reaction)
- (1a) (Z)-3-ureidoacrylate peracid + H2O (Z)-3-peroxyaminoacrylate + carbamate
- (1b) carbamate CO2 + NH3 (spontaneous)
- (2) (Z)-2-methylureidoacrylate peracid + H2O (Z)-2-methylperoxyaminoacrylate + CO2 + NH3 (overall reaction)
- (2a) (Z)-2-methylureidoacrylate peracid + H2O (Z)-2-methylperoxyaminoacrylate + carbamate
- (2b) carbamate CO2 + NH3 (spontaneous)
The enzyme also shows activity towards ureidoacrylate.
