Performax International
Performax International is an Australian company based in Gympie, Queensland, Australia. They specialise in the import, conversion and retailing of American performance vehicles. The company was established in 1989 as Corvette Queensland, then started to diversify by securing a contract to supply the Victorian Ambulance Service with Chevrolet and GMC pick-ups. With the introduction of a Government regulated industry, Performax began to acquire further accreditation to cover a wide range of vehicle types such as Hummer H2, Corvette, Plymouth Prowler, Ford Mustang, Suburban, Denali, Tahoe and Chevrolet Camaro. To reflect the diverse range of vehicle types available, the company was rebranded in 2007 to Performax International. Performax also moved into the RV market with the introduction of the Crossroads fifth wheel vans and more recently the eco-friendly Ultima fifth wheel vans to the Australian market.
It was Performax who converted the first Camaro to right hand drive in Australia. The first, in Australia registered limited edition 'Transformer Bumblebee',[1] made famous by the blockbuster movie Transformers was the major prize in a Dick Smith competition in 2006.
