Patsy Quick

Patsy Quick is an English off road motorcycle racer. She was the first British woman to compete in the Dakar Rally in 2003 and became the first British woman to complete it in 2006.[1][2]

Dakar Rally participation

In her first attempt to finish the Dakar rally she was involved in a life-threatening accident which stopped her from completing the course. She was flown to a military hospital where she had to have her spleen removed.[3] Her husband Clive Dredge (who himself has over 40 years motorcycle experience) was part of the four man back up team which accompanied her Dakar attempt [4] Quick was sponsored by more than a dozen organisations including KTM who supplied the bike on which she rode. In the documentary Race to Dakar, Quick suggested her success in 2006 had cost her more than £150,000

Personal life

Quick owns an antiques shop in Heathfield, East Sussex, a business which she runs with her husband.
