Pahalampi is an ice and inline hockey club from Tampere, Finland.
Founded in 2002,[1] Pahalampi is known as one of the best inline hockey clubs in Europe and attracts some of the biggest names in Finnish ice hockey to their ranks for the summer season. Pahalampi has won four Finnish SM-Liiga Championships and is the only team to manage the feat twice in succession in 2013 and 2014.
2014 season
Pahalampi started the 2014 regular season on 3 May against GrIFK in Somero, a game which Pahalampi won 3-9. The team's home debut was played against Koovee Rollers on 8 May, which ended in a loss by a score of 4-7. In total, Pahalampi played 12 regular season games and placed top of the table with 24 points and qualifying directly to semi-final stage against Pepe Roller.
In the first semi-final game Pahalampi lost in overtime to Pepe Roller by a score of 5-4.[2] Pahalampi went on to win the two subsequent semi-final games and qualified for the championship finals against local rivals Koovee Rollers.
Pahalampi had lost most of its star players[3] in the run-up to the finals and went into the match up against Koovee Rollers as the underdogs having lost both regular season games against the team with a full roster. Pahalampi won the championship in two straight games, beating Koovee Rollers 2-5 and 5-4.[4][5]
