Padamati Yaleru
Padamati Yaleru is a village in Atmakur mandal of Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] It is located in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.
We are also recognized as one of the 3 villages in India that has 100% literacy for the year of 2012. The award is presented on 8 September 2012.

History of Catholics in Padamati Yaleru
Catholicism was promoted here by the Jesuit missionaries around 1750. Catholics from Krishnapuram, Sri Rayappa Reddy and his family moved to Pedda Arikottala. From there came to Ponnapatty and from Ponnapatty to P. Yaleru. It was under Pondicherry missions. The priests from Bellary used to visit this mission station. Fr. Doyle, who was coming from Bellary used to visit this place and he bought 22 acres of land where the old priests’ house is there. Later on from Guntakal, Mill Hill Fathers visited and looked after this station. A chapel was built in the land given by Sri Marianna, The chapel was dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes. Later Fr. Th. Philip remodeled the chapel in 1964. The present bungalow was constructed by Msgr. P. Jacob.
A new presbytery was built in 2000 at the time of Fr. Thumma Prathap in the premises of the main Church. In 1999, Franciscan Missionary Brothers were invited by the Bishop to take up UP School in P. Yaleru. Presently they are running the school, staying in the old bunglow.
In 2005 New parish church and in 2007 the Bala yesu Community centre was built by Fr. K. Pratap. The Holy Spirit Sisters have arrived to the parish in the year 2002 and started a house in P.Yaleru with 3 sisters. In the year 2006, they have started E.M. School at Atmakur which 2.5 km from parish.
