Transmission and syndication
In Taiwan, PCJ operates an FM station broadcasting at 95.5 MHz for the Taipei area presenting its own programs and relaying programs from Radio Australia and the BBC World Service.
PCJ transmits programs to Asia via shortwave radio, leasing time from the former Deutsche Welle transmitter site in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.[1] It also has conducted test transmissions to North America and Europe using facilities in the United States and Germany.
In 2014, PCJ is launching an international shortwave relay service based at a shortwave transmitter that it has constructed in Taiwan.
PCJ syndicates programs to these partner stations:
- United States: WRMI,[2] WAZU
- Lithuania: KBC Trucker Radio
- New Zealand: "World FM" 88.2 LPFM in Tawa
- United Kingdom: World Radio Network
Name
The name "PCJ Radio" is a tribute to the pioneering shortwave station PCJJ, a precursor of long-time shortwave broadcaster Radio Nederland Wereldomroep. The Happy Station Show aired on those two stations from 1928 to 1995.
