The Old Calendar Orthodox Church of Bulgaria is a True Orthodox Church which follows the traditional Orthodox liturgical calendar, or Julian Calendar, and rejects modernism and ecumenism in the Local Orthodox Churches .
Structure and Parishes
The Old Calendar Bulgarian Church has one Bishop, 19 parishes, and 21 priests.[1]
At the request of the Old Calendar Orthodox in Bulgaria, the Orthodox Church of Greece (Holy Synod in Resistance) founded the Diocese of Triaditza and subsequently released it to be an independent body. The Bulgarian Old Calendar Church is administered by Bishop Photii of Triaditza. Its cathedral church is the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in the Buxton district of the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The Old Calendar Bulgarian Church especially cherishes the memory of St. Seraphim (Sobolev) of Sofia, who was a spiritual Father to Bishop Photii of Triaditza.
Intercommunion
The Old Calendar Orthodox Church of Bulgaria is in full communion with the Old Calendar Orthodox Church of Romania and Greece.
